Project Runway is back!

I am so excited that Project Runway is back with a new season. I can't wait to see all the great designs and all the bad ones too. It is hands down one of my favorite shows. In addition to the great clothes and ideas...I do love me some Tim Gunn! Make it work!

I always wonder where I can buy stuff from my favorites later. I saw some stuff from Irina on HSN, but not exactly what I was looking for. Maybe I will find some of the knits she did on the show soon.

I also liked some of the clothes Michael Costello & Mondo Guerra did. They did a show with Christopher Collins and I LOVED his stuff too! You can see some looks here.

If anyone knows where I can find stuff from other Project Runway favorites let me know.

I went to a baby shower this past weekend and decided to play photographer. I hope that mommy-to-be likes the photos once she sees them. I think she looks amazing and she is going to be a great mom...to both her girls. Twins!

I have been feeling more like my old self these days, so I hope to have some more posts up soon. I am starting to get the hang of functioning on minimal sleep. Oh the joys of being a new mom. =)

I dream of shoes lately, but since my feet have been so swollen due to my pregnancy most shoes have been a no go. I still want to encourage everyone else to shoe shop, so that I can live vicariously through you.

Things I Love for April.

A pair or two of flirty flats. As a soon to be mommy I think I will see many flats in my near future. These happen to be at Payless for about $23.00

Love Lace for Spring time! I think if you try a top or a skirt you will see how it changes up a look. Try going for a larger more unique pattern instead of the thin stretch lace fabric you might find at department stores. Try your luck at the thrift stores.

Try something different like this cool nail cuff bracelet. The point is to add something different to your outfit. I like accessories that stand out from my regular outfit.

I Have Nails!

For as long as I can remember I have been a nail biter. I can only remember a few times that I "let my nails grow" which means I had on fake nails so I couldn't bite my own. Eventually after having the acrylic nails on my nails would kind of grow under them. They grew really thin and the when I did have what I called a "longer nail" I would bite it off in about 3 days tops. They were so thin they would bend and crack or break, so that was my easy excuse to bite it (gross and sad...I know).

Anyways, so for whatever reason I noticed I haven't been biting my nails and decided to start using a treatment I bought a while back when I swore I wasn't going to bite them anymore. It's a nail solution from AVON called NAIL EXPERTS strong results.

I like to think that most people never really noticed my tiny nails because my fingers are small anyway, but many of my closest friends and family members have all given me compliments on how great my nails look! My sister-in-law even thought I had on acrylic nails =) It says it costs $6.50, but when I bought it from my Avon girl I think it was on sale for about $2.99 or something close to that. Avon always has sales on their stuff, so it is really inexpensive to try it out.

The only problem now is that nail polish has become a new obsession!

Belts, Belts, Belts!

So for Spring I want to get some belts to help slim down my tummy for when the baby is finally born. I was having trouble finding belts for my body type and this is what I learned:

Lean Frames: Medium Belts are good. If you are more on the narrow side then place them at the hip area to give more of a curve to the body.

Petite Body: Skinny belts look great on you! Wrap it around the smallest part of your waist it adds some height too.

Curvy Girls: Me! Medium belts are good, but be careful not to go too thicmk because then it can just look bulky. The point is to enhance the waistline.

So, I just wanted to quickly mention and maybe get some feedback on animal prints. I am not one to wear animal prints because I usually feel like I can't pull it off. Lately I feel like I need to add a little "roar" to my wardrobe. I was thinking of little things like earrings, a headband, or a bracelet to ease my way in. I don't think that counts though. Soooo...now I am thinking some leopard booties.

I like the idea of wearing them now and then wearing them into warmer weather. I think that you can do alot with a leopard bootie like wear all black and make it a statement shoe or wear it with jeans and a casual top and the show still looks cute but casual.

I saw a great pair at http://www.bluefly.com/ but $745.00 is not in the price range. I think it would be a better idea to get a "test" pair to make sure that I will wear them first. Something like these from Charlotte Russe for just $35.50

Weekend Pics

I got to practice some of my picture taking this weekend. One of my husband's cousins asked me to take some pictures of her for a birthday invite she had in mind. I couldn't say no since it was a great excuse to play with my new lens and get some sun...yes sun! I keep reminding myself it is still winter.

Here is a few of the pictures I took of her. I fixed them up for her and she asked that I put them in a sepia tone because her party is a chocolate theme, but thats all she would say. I hope to have some chocolate party pictures later.

I don't know what picture she will end up choosing for the invite, but I am curious to see.

Yeah 2011! I hope everyone is having a wonderful first week of the new year. I am still waiting for my teacher to come back so I can get started on my baby sweater. Oh yes! I should also let you know that I am expecting my first child this April...it's a boy!

Photo news is that I got a new lens for my Canon camera. I just took some pictures at a friends wedding and I think they came out pretty good. Here is one off the bridesmaids.

I didn't offer to be the wedding photographer quite yet, but I hope to learn more about taking awesome pictures.

Shopping news is all maternity! Well, I did get some booties from http://www.forever21.com/ and think they are the cutest ever at a steal for only $29.99. Well that is my update for the new year so far. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

2010 is almost gone!

Well alot has changed since May (my last blog entry). The only thing that hasn't changed is that I am still a sucky blogger. I have had several knitting projects gone bad and now my teacher is gone! I have to wait to finish this sweater I started until she gets back.

I have been getting more and more into my photography and have done small family shoots. I have been really happy with the results. I still have alot of learning to do, but I hope to have some photos up in the new year.

Off to Long Beach

Well I am off to see some family and friends in the LBC. I am going mainly because I have family arriving from Chicago that I haven't seen in a few years. Usually the family gets together and does some grilling. I am excited to take pictures and see how everyone is. Bye for now!

Long time no nothing!

For the past month or so I have been trying to lose weight. I have been trying to keep a healthy diet and have recently began counting my calories at http://www.caloriecount.com/. At first I thought it would be to hard to log everyhting, but since the data base pretty much has all the foods listed I gave it a try.

So for I have lost 14lbs and now my clothes are fitting better. Some of my "big girl" clothes are fitting too baggy. I have decided that for the time being I will only buy new dresses so I don't have to worry about them being too tight on the legs or waist. I have been toying aorund the idea of finally getting my sewing machine. Maybe my co-worker Susan can teach me some of her sewing skills...wink wink.

I hope to update more frequently with any progress on the weight loss, sewing and new fashion!

It has been a while since my last post and I must say that besides school and work there isn't much else taking up my time. Sounds pretty boring, but sometimes that is all i can handle. I haven't even had time to run and pick up something crafty for me to do. I guess I can put that on my "To-Do List" along with learning how to sew, getting a new camera and working out more often. Yikes!

It seems so obvious to me now, duh! Cuffed Khakis dressed up or down is such a comfy-cute look. I often find myself being overly committed to my jeans and don't appreciate the simple things in life like CUFFED KHAKIS. I wonder if anyone else has my same jean problem. I guess its just an easy go to. Since I will be out and about tomorrow, I will see if I can find an old pair of khakis that fit!

So nothing new and exciting. I had a very eventful weekend, staring with a town carnival near Tecate, Baja California. My parents have a home in Mexico and now that they have retired they decided to stay there. It is only a 45 minute drive from San Diego, but it is so much different. Of course like the "good blogger" that I am...I didn't take a camera that night.

On saturday I went to Comic-Con and that was sooo much fun. I was surprised with how much I actually knew about comics. Awwww my inner nerd! I loved it and will definately be going next year.

On Sunday I went to my niece's birthday party. Hannah Montana and spent the day in the park. I believe it was about 98 degrees that day. wow!

I just joined the blog world and am neglecting my blog. Please be nice. While I really have no excuse I will still blame it on my vacation. I thought I would have something interesting to blog about , but no. I did go to the San Diego County Fair. While I was on "stay-cation" my sister-in-laws, husband and I went to see a group we like play at the fair. I had some fatty garlic fries, and I did share those calories with the girls. The rest of my time was with my hubby and the god kids.

Closet Clean Out

Finally! I took the to clean out my closet and now have about 7 boxes with about 30lbs of clothes each! No Joke. I really don't know how I kept some of this stuff either. My camera failed me on this project, but when I have my yard sale I will be sure to take pictures of everything I took out of there. it may be hard to believe, but i don't feel that bad about getting rid of all that clothes. I also found some others goodies like bags, hats, accessories, etc. My plan is to take all this stuff to Mexico over the weekend and sell it for like 1-5 dollars a piece. Anything that is left over will be taken to a shelter for young women my mother volunteers at. I'm glad I decided to clean up...a clean closet can make a girl feel a whole lot better. =)

Gladiator Sandals - Get these in heels or flats and change the whole look of any outfit.

Maxi Dress - These long dresses are good to look casual but still sexy.

Studded Accessories - I know you may be thinking this may not be the look for you, but start small and try a studded bracelet with some other silver or chunky bracelets that you would wear. =)

White Bottoms - Pants, skirts, and shorts are all over the place. If you don't have the bottom feel free to pull out a short white dress. If it has lace even better. Lace is all over the place.

At least try one... I will!

Bright Colors!

So as I shop around I see that super bright colors are back again. Now if we could only get out of this "June Gloom" we can get started sporting them. I am making it a point to try and start wearing each piece of clothing in my closet and if it does not fit or I can't pull it off...out it goes! I can't believe I just said that! The upside...more new clothes once I make space.

I would like to start wearing dresses, but I haven't worn dresses in forever.

Something like this would be nice, but I can't work up the nerve yet.

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my first blog entry. I have always wanted to blog and what better to blog about than clothes and accessories? I like to believe I am a girl's girl which means I understand the frustration of not being able to find a good outfit when you need one.

Like many girls I have a closet filled with items I have never worn and it's time to come out of the closet one way or another! My clothes need new adventures, even if that means someone else takes em' for a spin. I have a closet full of goodies from S-3XL. Purples, pinks and greens are my favorite to buy even though I wear way too much black.

In the future I will keep you updated with some neat fashion trends and any great offers I may find online. I hope to make tons of buddies along the way too. Maybe I'll brush up on some photo skills while i'm at it too.
